Olympic champion Anna Kiesenhofer gets new sponsor
Anna Kiesenhofer has secured funding until 2024. The Olympic road racing champion recently confirmed on Instagram that she will be supported by the Swiss Krono group as she continues to race independently from a professional team.
“Sponsorship announcement! I am very proud to announce my partnership with Swiss Krono Group, one of the world’s leading manufacturers of wood-based materials, which will support me until 2024, â€she wrote.

Kiesenhofer closed his Olympic season with a streak of better time trial results until the fall, including second place behind Marlen Reusser at the Chrono des Nations last month.
The Austrian ace recently declared VeloNews that she has no plans to turn pro after her Olympic success, but is considering the possibility of a larger role behind the scenes of sport.
Pogacar agent Johnny Carera hospitalized in traffic accident
Influential driver Johnny Carera was hospitalized with broken ribs and a punctured lung after a traffic accident near Milan on Friday evening.
Carera, manager of Tadej PogaÄar and many great Italian drivers including Vincenzo Nibali, Fausto Masnada and Giulio Ciccone, was involved in a collision with a truck. The Gazzetta dello Sport reports that Carera’s car struck the vehicle after its drunk driver made a U-turn on a four-lane highway.
Carera’s agency A&J All Sports posted an update via Instagram on Saturday.
“Johnny Carera had a serious accident,” read the message. “He currently has a very serious prognosis. He was admitted to intensive care under deep sedation. The prognosis is reserved.
Carera’s brother and business partner Alex revealed more details to Gazzetta Saturday.
“The perforation of the left lung is serious, Johnny cannot breathe if he is not attached to the machine,†said Alex Carera. “He’s in an induced coma. The lung, affected by many broken ribs, collapsed.
